| As a Personality I host an interactive, pop-culture driven show. Being relatable and approachable is so important in creating a long lasting relationship with your audience, and that’s something I strive to be every day. The best compliment I hear is “I feel like I know you and your family”. Never one to shy away from a stage, I host as many community and charity events as I can squeeze in. Some of my favorites include Valentine’s Day for CCA, AIDS Walk, The Amy Roloff Charity Golf Tournament, and Race For The Cure.
As Host Of Kindergarten Logic I have the awesome privelege of visiting local schools every week to chat with adorable 5 & 6 year olds. It started when my oldest was in Kindergarten and quickly became a popular radio feature every Friday morning on The Buzz. It's hard to have a bad day when you stop and take a look at life through the eyes of a Kindergartner!

As Assistant Program Director I was responsible for the scheduling of daily music logs, imaging, talent development, creation and execution of on-air and online promotions, and long-term strategic planning. I’ve helped to facilitate the launch of a Rhythmic CHR sister station in an adjoining market as well as a format shift from Adult Hits to Classic Rock.
As a Promotion Director I was responsible for all promotional content of the radio station. Duties included, but certainly were not limited to: creation and implementation of all station events and promotions, marketing, prize inventory and creatively bridging the gap between sales and programming strategies. Oh yeah and driving the van around town…I did that too.
I’ve seen the view from many angles which gives me the unique perspective to understand how we can all work together to overcome the myriad challenges facing our industry right now. Radio magic doesn’t come from a list of songs or a marketing budget (not that I’d turn one down!) I believe it comes from choosing the right people to invoke emotion and make a connection with your audience. Passion and emotion are what tie people to a musical product. Yes, they are tuning to hear their favorite song but they stick around because they’ve made an emotional connection. Music is the heartbeat of a radio station. Talented radio people, born communicators, are the soul. In this world of never-ending to-do lists and constant incoming messages it’s more important than ever to hire the right people to establish a relationship with your audience. This is what I do best. |
